Daisam Jalo’s Composition is selected for performance in Cairo & Copenhagen
The EECMS would like to thank all composers who sent their scores and we will be happy to collaborate with all of you in the near Future. Due to the very limited time and program slot, only one piece was selected by the promising Syrian Composer Daisam Jalo. The composition will be world premiered on April 15th in the Cairo Conservatoire then in Copenhagen this coming June, to be performed by renowned Cellist Alexandra Hallen. This performance is a collaboration between the Cairo Contemporary Music Days and Klang Copenhagen Festival under the platform of Manassat which won the support of the Arab fund for Arts and Culture. Many other projects and new compositions are on the way and will be announced very soon.
Daisam Jalo is an oud-player, composer and ethnomusicologist. He graduated in 2009 as an oud-player from the High Institute of Music in Damascus. During his study he attended a two-year composition class provided on the initiative of the Syrian composer Shafi Badreddin. In 2012 he moved to Weimar in Germany, where he did a two-year Masters in Ethnomusicology and gained the degree Master of Arts on the basis of a thesis problematizing the scales in the traditional Kurdish music. After moving to Berlin in 2014 he played in many projects such as Orphé, where some of his compositions have been performed. Since April 2017 he has been working on his PhD thesis, which focuses on a possible role of the traditional Syrian music in the cultural reconstruction of Syria.
مؤلفات دايسام جالو تختار من ضمن المؤلفات التى تقدم فى مهرجان القاهرة للموسيقى المعاصرة ومهرجان كلانج بكوبنهاجن بالدنمارك
تتقدم الجمعية الأوروبية المصرية بخالص الشكر لجميع المؤلفين الذى قدموا مؤلفاتهم لألة التشيلى المنفرد وسوف تسع بالتعاون معهم فى المستقبل القريب للأسف ولضيق الوقت المتاح للمؤلفات تم إختيار مؤلفة واحدة للمؤلف الشورى الشاب دايسام جالو والتى سوف تقدمها عازفة التشيلو ألكساندرا هالن لأول مرة فى العالم في ١٥ أبريل في الكونسرفاتوار في القاهرة ثم بمهرجان كلانج بكوبنهاجن فى يونيو الاقدم. وذلك فى إطار تعاون بين مهرجان كلانج و أيام القاهرة للموسيقى المعاصرة وتحت مظلة مشروع منصات المدعم من الصندوق العربي للثقافة والفنون ،، أفاق ،، وسوف نعلن عن باقى المؤلفات التى سوف تقدم واحدة تلو الاخرى.
دايسام جالو هو عازف عود و مؤلف و دارس للعموم الموسيقى وتخرج من المعهد الأعلى للموسيقى بدمشق فى ٢٠٠٩ وخلال دراسته انضم ولمدة عامين الى فصل الاستاذ والمؤلف شريف بدر الدين . وفى ٢٠١٢ غادر للدراسة بمدينة فيأمر الألمانية حيث أتم شهادات فى علوم الموسيقى وأخرى فى الفنون وأخذ التعامل مع السلالم الكردية كجوهر للدراسة. و فى ٢٠١٤ أنتقل لبرلين حيث عمل في مشاريع فنية عدة كمشروع أورفيو واُخرى ومن ٢٠١٧ يكرس جهوده لإتمام درجة الدكتوراه التى تناقش دور الموسيقى التراثية السورية فى إعادة تكوين الهوية الثقافية فى الوقت الحالي وأبعاده المستقبلية.
