The department  for the arts is comprised of the Art, Film, Music and Theatre programs. Bachelor of Arts degrees are offered in Theatre, Art, and Music Technology, and a minor is offered in each of the four programs. All four programs contribute courses to the core curriculum. Department for the arts  provides an education that encompasses the fine arts as a historical, cultural and social study within a liberal arts context. The curriculum strives to prepare students for the engagement of the imagination and the intellect through comprehensive analysis of theory and application of practical skills.

The integration of events programming with curriculum development and faculty research is central to the department’s mission. Center for the arts  provides public events including music concerts, art exhibitions, theatrical productions, film series and festivals for AUC and the Cairo community. Production and events programming aims to develop an understanding and critical appreciation of creative expression by engaging in the conceptual and practical process of public presentation.

The department acknowledges that the creative productivity of the faculty is intrinsic to the growth and vitality of the program and encourages the collaboration of creative work, exhibitions and performances between programs of  Department.
