Cairo Contemporary Music Days Festival – April 2017
The Festival will feature several Egyptian premiers, among those compositions are the Lithuanian Arturas Bumšteinas “Heap of Language” (2009), Vykintas Baltakas’s Music of Falling Sound for violin and electronics and the Norwegian composer Øyvind Torvund’s Neon Forest Space (2009) which is part of our focus and presentation of the Nordic culture and music to which the whole phase II f the festival is dedicated. This is besides Bushra el Turk (Lebanon – The UK) who is occupying a great space of our current and future artistic plans as we will also feature her works, String Quartet and Marionette for Flute and Piano. The Egyptian composers featured in our festival this year are Gamal Abdel Rahim With his works for solo violin and Amr Okba’s Utopia for Solo Clarinet. Syrian composer Hassan Taha is also participating with his work The Dice Player a work based on the poetry of the late Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish. Zad Moultaka (Lebanon) collaborates with the EECMS for the first time and it is an honorary participation as the ensemble will play composition for a composer that is considered to be one of the most important living Arab composers in the modern times. Another highlight of the Festival is the feature of two world premiers of Lithuanian composer Justina Repečkaitė for the Darabuka and small ensemble and Hikari Kiyama’s (Japan) Doppel Konzert for Ney, Bass Clarinet and Strings. The two composers were among the composers participants of the Heritage and Modernity Forum in Cairo 2016. This phase of the festival is mainly a collaboration between the Egyptian Contemporary Music Ensemble and LENsemble – Lithuania Ensemble Network and soloists Hany El Badry (Ney).
أيام القاهرة للموسيقى المعاصرة – إبريل ٢٠١٧
تقدم نسخة المهرجان الخامسة العديد من المؤلفات الموسيقية المعاصرة للعديد من المؤلفين المعاصرين من مصر و العالم العربي و آسيا و أوروبا مثل: أرتوراس بومشتايناس و عمله “ركام اللغة” (٢٠٠٩) و ڤيكنتاس بالتاكاس “موسيقى صوت السقوط” للفيولينة و الإليكترونيات من ليتوانيا، والمؤلف النرويجي أويفيند تورڤند و عمله “نيون فوريست سبيس” (٢٠٠٩) في إطار إهتمام الجمعية المصرية الأوروبية المصرية للموسيقى المعاصرة بالتقديم الثقافي و الموسيقى لدول شمال أوروبا مع إهداء المرحلة الثانية من المهرجان للتركيز فقط على هذه الموسيقى، هذا إلى جانب المؤلفة اللبنانية الإنجليزية بشرى الترك و التي نقدم لها عملين ماريونيت للفلوت و البيانو و عمل رباعي الأوتار(تناول السُحُب)، أما الإضافة المصرية للمهرجان هي وجود عملين هامين للمؤلفين المصريين جمال عبد الرحيم و عمله تأملات لصولو الكمان و عمرو عقبة و عمله يوتوبيا لصولو الكلارينيت في حين أن المؤلف السوري حسان طه يحل ضيفًا على المهرجان و يُعرض له عمل لاعب النرد و الذي بُني و إستوحي من قصيدة الشاعر الفلسطيني الراحل محمود درويش و التي تحمل نفس الإسم، و تتعاون الجمعية الأوروبية المصرية للموسيقي المعاصرة مع المؤلف اللبناني زاد ملتقى و الذي يعد واحد من أهم المؤلفين العرب الحاليين حيث تقدم له أحد أعماله في إطار المهرجان. و إستكمالًا لنجاح ملتقى المؤلفين الشباب أحد أهم محاور الملتقى الدولي للتراث و الحداثة الذي إنعقد في إبريل عام ٢٠١٦ بالقاهرة فإن المهرجان سيقدم مؤلفتين يتم تقديمهم لأول مرة عالميًا في القاهرة للمؤلفة الشابة يوستينا ريبتشكايت (ليتوانيا) و التي طورت عملً للدربكة و الإنسمبل و المؤلف الياباني هيكاري كياما و و عمله “دوبل كونسيرت” للتاي و الكلارينيت و الوتريات حيث أن المؤلفين كانوا من ضمن المشاركين في الملتقى و المهتمين بتطوير و مناقشة موضوع الحداثة
